Master Anwalt Kenzie J. ELLIS

Kenzie grew up in Indianola, IA, and went on to attend Northwestern University for her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Legal Studies. During her time at Northwestern, Kenzie played softball for the Wildcats and participated in Student Government and S.A.A.C., the governing body for NCAA student-athletes. During her last semester at Northwestern, Kenzie clerked at Saper Law Firm in Chicago, working on Intellectual Property Law prior to entering law school.Kenzie moved back to Des Moines in 2020 to attend Drake University Law School. During her time at Drake Law, Kenzie spent a semester working in the Wrongful Conviction clinic in connection with the Innocence Project, focusing on post-conviction relief for wrongfully convicted clients serving life sentences. During her work in the clinic, Kenzie found a passion for criminal defense work and helping clients through difficult circumstances.In 2023, Kenzie graduated from Drake Law School and was admitted to practice law by the Iowa Bar Association in September of 2023. Since starting at Ellis Law, Kenzie’s primary areas of focus are Family Law, Criminal Defense, and Estate Planning.
