Master Lawyer Ronald NGUYEN

Ronald Nguyen is an attorney at Ronald Nguyen, LLC. The law firm focuses on immigration law, criminal law, family law, and personal injury law; however, Mr. Nguyen has handled a variety of cases in Missouri. As the former lead immigration attorney for Legal Aid of Western Missouri, he managed all immigration cases for Legal Aid in the Western District of Missouri and for migrants residing in the Eastern District of Kansas. Mr. Nguyen specializes in immigration law with an emphasis on naturalization and family-based immigration.Mr. Nguyen has worked with local community agencies to provide updates on immigration law and to educate the community about potential immigration scams. His interest in volunteer immigration work stems from the fact that his parents received assistance during their immigration process as refugees from Vietnam. Mr. Nguyen has served and continues to serve on various legal and non-legal committees, nonprofit boards, and leadership programs.In December 2015, Mr. Nguyen received the President’s Award from the Young Lawyers Section of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. In October 2016, he was honored with the Missouri Lawyers Weekly Public Service Award as part of the Up and Coming Awards. In December 2016, he received the President’s Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association on behalf of the Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City, where he served as president.Mr. Nguyen was selected for the Super Lawyers Rising Star award in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. In 2022, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association awarded him the Distinguished Counselor Award. Mr. Nguyen earned his bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.Beyond his legal work, Mr. Nguyen has served on numerous boards of directors. He currently serves as General Counsel for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation, as a board member for the ACLU of Missouri, and as Co-Chair of the Civil Committee for the Missouri Supreme Court Commission on Racial and Ethnic Fairness. He is a past president of the Asian American Bar Association of Kansas City, a former president of the Vietnamese American Community of Greater Kansas City, and a former appointed chair of the Missouri Bar Regional Disciplinary Committee - Region IV, Div. I.Mr. Nguyen has participated in several Kansas City deposition skills programs by NITA, the ABA Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy, the Missouri Bar Leadership Academy, the ABA Trial Advocacy Training, the KCMBA Bar Leadership Academy, and the Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy. Additionally, he has spoken on local, state, and national panels.
