Master Lawyer Silvia BAUMGART

As General Manager of the Association of Illustrators (the AOI) she initiated the campaign for fairer contracts for visual creators and represented the organisation at the British Copyright Council, the Creators Rights Alliance and the European Illustrators Forum.Prior to qualifying as a UK solicitor in 2018, she developed and produced educational resources and created workshops on intellectual property for creative students and businesses, amongst others for the World Intellectual Property Organisation, the University of the Arts London and the European Patent Office.Since qualifying she has successfully defended a medium-sized England based fashion retailer in opposition proceedings against an internationally operating big retailer, achieved a word wide settlement agreement for a start-up fintech company in a multiple jurisdiction dispute with a globally operating social network and advised a well-known broadcaster on clearing of rights in a TV programme (amongst many other smaller matters which usually involve filing trade mark and design applications, drafting licensing, publishing and commissioning agreements, and generally working with clients on various aspects of brand protection)Silvia speaks and writes fluent German because she was born and grew up in Germany.
